Information for Collectors of the Photography of Thomas Martin Eads |
||
| Your choices | A collectible print must satisfy your values. | |
| Choose according to your taste, print type, size, and framing options. | ||
| Shape, size, pricing | Dimensions for both image size and matted print are given with each picture. Framing adds a few more inches. My pricing is based on area. | |
| Methods and limited editions | I work principally in natural habitats, with medium and large format film cameras, using professional development. In the digital "lightroom" I scan the film at high spatial resolution (for detail) and dynamic range (for color accuracy and tonal gradation), edit for verisimilitude, then print with a variety of high resolution digital printers: inkjet (also known as giclée), laser/toner, or lightjet (image is written onto regular photo paper then developed chemically). I achieve exceptionaI sharpness, continuity (smoothness), color balance, and color gamut. The choice of print technology is usually a matter of aesthetics. My prints have the highest permanence possible for a given printing technology; this means approximately 70 to 200 years for inkjet, 30 years for laser/toner, and 75 to 90 years for lightjet. | |
| I issue limited editions of 20 to 500. A certificate of authenticity is available upon request. A provenance (history of the image) is also available upon request. | ||
